My husband picked up the phone thinking it was someone he was awaiting a call from. Upon answering, he was greeted by a voice claiming to be from Visa's Fraud Department, warning him about a dubious £800 transaction linked to an American betting company. They prompted him to press 1 for more information, which he did. However, when he was connected, the individual on the other end began asking him what his enquiry was about. He explained he had received instructions to press 1 but didn’t elaborate further, and to his surprise, the caller abruptly hung up on him.
