I just got a voicemail from this woman’s voice that I know way too well. It’s weird no one from the police has caught up with her yet.

A woman rang claiming to be from a bank, though she didn’t say which one. She told me I had a credit card payment overdue for more than £900 and asked me to press 1. I cut the call straight away and then contacted my bank to check - they’d had no such notification. Quite clearly a scam, but I wanted to verify since I’d recently had issues with my card due to an error on the bank’s side, which I’d already complained about. I wonder if these calls are just luck of the draw or if the scammers get some inside scoop? Either way, if you get a call like this, just hang up immediately.

Got a call from someone saying they were from bank security but never mentioned which bank. They told me my card was used to buy flights to California costing £589 for the 29th of September 2023. The voice sounded like an American recording. After waiting on hold to speak with the anti-fraud team, they just wished me a nice day and then ended the call!
