Got a call from someone claiming to do market research on "local shopping" on 9/4/26, from the 18-45 number. Didn't ask for it at all, sounded dodgy to me. I just told them to bugger off, definitely some kind of scam trying to sneak in.

The number 01642 37 3357 called me claiming they wanted to discuss shopping habits with people living in the neighbourhood. They asked for the homeowner but I told them no one was available. From what others have said, they try to come across as if they’re local but they really aren’t! I can’t tell if it’s some marketing research or a con, but since we’re on the TPS list, they really shouldn’t be ringing. I’ve reported the call as harassment because of that!

On 23/03/22, I got a call from 01642373357 about joining a shopping survey. They asked for my postcode but then said I lived just outside the zone they needed. So now they’ve got my number and postcode, which I’m not sure was the goal in the first place. Wish I’d just hung up straight away!

By the way, I received a call from 01642373357 on the 23rd of March 2022. They inquired if I’d be willing to participate in a shopping survey. After that, they requested my postcode, and then informed me I didn’t quite fall within their target region. Now I'm left wondering if their primary aim was simply to collect my phone number and address. In hindsight, I really ought to have hung up instead of engaging with them.

About six weeks back, I got a call from a consultancy firm in Middlesbrough trying to peddle their services. I made it clear that I wanted my details erased from their list. Yet, the very next day, they rang me up again! Frustrated, I decided to block the number, which just sends their calls straight to voicemail. Since then, I’ve received a staggering 26 calls, and each time they’ve left a pre-recorded message. This feels like nothing short of harassment, if you ask me. The number in question is 01642 257875, and it seems they've intentionally masked their company name in the voicemail-something like, ‘[something] Consultants’.

I received a rather unexpected call just before half-past eight this evening from this number. The caller went on to say they were conducting a survey for the Department of Broadband and Communications. They initially inquired about my age, only to follow up with the rather puzzling statement that "that age category has already been filled" in their survey. After doing some digging, I discovered I’m not alone - numerous other folks have voiced similar concerns about this firm. The name associated with this operation appears to be NEMS Market Research, located at 22-23 Manor Way, Belasis Hall Technology Park, Billingham, TS23 4HN. I’d advise the directors of this company - Richard Lindsay, Roger Lindsay, Jane Carol Lindsay, Geoffrey Siggens, and Martin Hunt - to tread carefully when it comes to their hiring practices, particularly with staff members who take on the guise of government representatives.

I got a ring from this number earlier, and a rather nice chap on the other end mentioned he was conducting a survey regarding shopping habits in Bridgwater, my hometown. Naturally, I was happy to lend a hand for a few moments to help him out. The very first query he threw at me was my age. I replied that I’m 72, to which he responded that, sadly, I didn’t fit into the age category they were after. He then asked if he could ring me back at another time when my age group might be of interest.

As a resident of Scotland, I can confidently say that English councils hold no authority over us. I fully back the idea that the government needs to intervene and put an end to this nonsense. It's a deeply unsettling experience that feels like an unwelcome intrusion into our private lives-a blatant act of harassment that simply must be addressed.

I received a call purporting to be from Bath & East Somerset Council, supposedly to carry out a survey. However, given my area code, it's clear that I don't fall under their jurisdiction. Furthermore, I’m listed with the Telephone Preference Service and not on the open electoral register, which they ought to have checked. Received a call at 8:10 AM on the 4th of August, 2014, on my home phone. When I answered and greeted the caller, there was nothing but silence on the other end. It’s quite unsettling, especially since I’m aware that the area code belongs to Middlesbrough, while I reside in Bath and my number is unlisted. I rarely, if ever, provide my landline number on any paperwork; I solely use my mobile. So, how on earth did this individual obtain my number? What if this is some sort of oddball making prank calls? Surely BT has the capability to reach out to them-don’t they have the means to identify the caller?
