I had a very similar experience, to be honest. Whenever you add your business to those free listing websites, you can almost guarantee a call from these folks.

I got a call from this guy who said his name was Alec Brown, trying to get me listed on some online directory. At first, I was quite open to listening to what he had to say, but then he started calling me “my man”, which was a bit off-putting. I hung up pretty quickly after that. Later on, I did a bit of digging and found loads of bad reviews about both this Alec and the company linked to the number, www.webconsultancy.co.uk. Definitely not someone I’d trust.
