Didn’t pick up and just blocked it straight away.5 yearsI don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t know. If it’s important, they can drop a voicemail. I checked the number on this site after the call and blocked it straight away.5 yearsThey didnt pick up or anything, no message left either.5 yearsMy phone rang and I answered, only to hear someone with a South African accent asking if I had purchased a diesel car recently. I didn’t respond and just ended the call.5 yearsI received a call purporting to be from "Advice Plus" - your typical call centre spiel. The chap on the line had a strong Indian accent accompanied by quite a din in the background. Intriguingly, he knew my name and claimed he could assist with my supposed “Covid-related debts.” However, I assured him I wasn’t in any financial trouble at all. He then launched into a barrage of possible debts, which I flatly denied. When he moved on to questioning about my utility bills, I confirmed they were all settled. I then firmly asked him to remove my number from their records. Rather annoyingly, he attempted to stick to his debt narrative and talked over me. I reminded him that under GDPR regulations, I was demanding the immediate deletion of my information from their system. Thankfully, this seemed to halt his scripted dialogue, and he promptly hung up.Advice Plus5 yearsThat ought to teach them a lesson, won’t it? Honestly, just cut the call and add the number to your blocked list, for goodness’ sake!5 yearsI picked up and then just immediately ended the call.Submit Your Own Report (01642 088148)
