I received a rather alarming call from someone claiming to represent Microsoft, insisting that my computer was at risk of being shut down and that my licence would be terminated. Apparently, my system had been compromised by several foreign IP addresses! He mentioned he'd provide me with a unique Windows identification number to jot down. Though I was sceptical of his claims, I went along with it, and he allegedly showcased all these foreign connections linked to my machine. After engaging with me and taking control of my device for close to two hours, he attempted to sell me a security package to fend off the hackers supposedly operating from Syria. What a scam! I told him to proceed as he wished, but unsurprisingly, nothing happened regarding his threats to shut down my computer. This individual poses a real threat and needs to be apprehended.
