Got a call from Aifie at PPU Insurance regarding cover for my washing machine. She managed to get my surname right. But once I mentioned I’ve got help to do my laundry, she just cut the call. This happened on 8th July 2020 around 1:15pm.

The bloke on the phone didn’t say what company he was with. He claimed my washing machine’s free insurance was about to run out and said he was ringing to offer a renewal for another three years. I told him the machine was quite old and I didn’t have any insurance on it anyway. Then he just ended the call. Looking back, I should’ve asked him a few more questions, but I reckon he probably didn’t even know the make of my washer. Feels like a scam to either take money for nothing or maybe try and nab your bank info.

Got a call from someone who had our name and said they were from PTU, then just suddenly ended the call.

They've been bothering me non stop this week, it's getting worse!

I've been getting loads of calls from unknown numbers all week, so I just ignored this one. Really fed up with it now.

So I answered the call, but the person immediately ended it. I'm guessing it's one of those annoying spam calls.

She started chatting about insurance for the washing machine, but I told her I never bothered to get one. She seemed to lose interest after that. The machine’s been going strong for about 8 years anyway!
