Got a call this evening from someone looking for a person who's left the firm ages ago. When I asked their name, they said something about a Technology Centre. Their accent was really tricky to make out! Then when I asked what it was about, they just said 'finance' and then cut off the call. Weird experience.

Got a ring from this number, which was a bit strange cos it’s near my place. I actually spoke with my daughter’s school earlier today using my work phone. So, thinking it’s connected, I tried calling back but the voicemail was just gibberish, couldn’t make head or tail of it.

Some bloke from Technology Signals rang me. He had all my details, like my name, job, company and email. He wanted to send me an ebook by email (bit suspicious!) but I told him I wasn’t bothered. He was quite polite and hung up after that.

Didn’t catch his name cos of the accent, wasn’t British anyway, but he claimed he was ringing from Docusign. He actually knew my name and what I do for a living (easy to find on LinkedIn tho). Asked to confirm my job title, and as soon as I said yes, the call cut off. What’s the deal with these calls? Seems pointless to me.

They had a surprising amount of info about me, trying to sell docusign for some company called technology signals. I told them i wasnt interested and just hung up nicely. Not sure where they got my info, but I'd bet its from a TheRegister form I filled out a few years back.

22/11/2018 about 12:30pm I got a call from an Asian guy who said he was Ron Adams from Technology Signals. He used my name and asked how I was, mentioning my job role and claimed he spotted me on LinkedIn. When I told him I’m not actually on LinkedIn, he just hung up.

I've received approximately seven calls during the past few weeks. Each time, there's the unmistakable noise of a call centre in the background. An Asian woman invariably asks, "Am I speaking to Mr. Smith John?", for example. It's rather peculiar as that's not how anyone would typically be addressed, so it's evident these calls have absolutely nothing to do with me.
