2 yearsI received a peculiar phone call which purported to be from Virgin Media's technical department, inquiring whether I had been experiencing any issues with my broadband service. The caller's voice was rather garbled, plagued by a strange, buzzing static that persisted throughout the conversation. Additionally, they spoke with a prominent South Asian accent, quite unlike the staff I’ve encountered at the Virgin Media office just around the corner, who all speak with a familiar Midlands twang. Curious, I decided to humour them for a bit, but it didn't take long before the chat turned to matters of security. I casually mentioned some previous attempts at scamming, to which she quickly inquired about the amount I had supposedly lost. At that point, my interest waned, so I decided to terminate the call.
