The number 01633 868342 kept ringing me up, claiming I was owed a refund from the bank for some overcharges. What really worried me was that they seemed to know which bank I use and even my mum’s maiden name. They said the money could be paid straight into my account, but then this so-called solicitor was meant to come round to my house to deliver the cheque. He wanted £300 upfront for his fees, which felt dodgy. I ended the call and went straight to my bank afterwards to sort things out and change my details.

Got a missed call with no voicemail left. When I called back, an automated voice said "Sorry, the system is busy, please call back later." Very frustrating!

My mum got a call from a young woman saying she was Christina from Halifax bank. She told her a bank rep would come by with a cheque for a few thousand pounds, supposedly to refund some overcharges. But, to get the money, mum had to pay £200 in cash first. We've reported it to the cops, and so far, nobody has shown up with the cheque.

I got a call from some bloke who sounded like he was just reading off a script, telling me I'd allegedly overpaid fees on a bank account and might get some money back. I could tell straight away it was a load of rubbish, so I told him it was a scam and ended the call. When I tried ringing the number back, it just said it wasn’t a recognised number at all.
