The letter itself looked incredibly convincing, almost too good to be true!

When I queried my payroll about it, they mentioned something called 'essentials finance' linked to the number 01633645112. If this turns out to be a scam, how are they able to pull money directly from my wages? I've even contacted the court, but they seemed completely baffled by my situation. I can absolutely confirm this is a scam! I received messages from HMCTS claiming I had a penalty to pay for a criminal court matter, directing me to ring 01633645112 to settle it. I'm urging everyone to steer clear of that number—it’s a complete con! I've already reported it to the HMRC fraud team. Stay vigilant, folks!

I settled my penalty back in April 2021 and recently got a letter from the magistrates' court in Nottingham, but the contact number on it isn't the one I expected for the court. To make things worse, the website they've provided for making payments online seems a bit off too. It's left me feeling a tad uneasy about the whole situation.

Please ring 01633645112 today and mention reference ......I AS. Div 047." Then another one comes through, stating: "Hello again, your fine is overdue. There's a chance a Warrant of Control could be issued, leading to additional charges. Contact 01633645112 immediately with the reference ......I AS Div.047. Feel free to disregard this if you've already reached out." Honestly, I suspect it's a scam! I haven’t a clue what they’re on about, and I can assure you that I haven’t received any fines. No letters, no emails—absolutely nothing! If anyone else has had a similar experience or has insights into this, I’d greatly appreciate your feedback. Cheers!

I received a concerning call at my mother’s home, where someone claimed that my son was in debt and urgently needed to contact them regarding payment. They refused to provide my mother with any details, yet they kept insisting it was crucial for him to ring them and settle up — they even provided a bank account number, 16003384v. This whole situation has caused my mother a great deal of distress, especially given that both she and my father are not in the best of health.
