I just received a call from someone with a foreign accent claiming to be from a company called "Your Preferences." They assured me it wasn't a sales pitch but rather a brief survey. The chap proceeded to elaborate on how he aimed to uncover ways to help me save a few quid in my daily expenses. Quite the peculiar call, if you ask me!

Nuisances, those lot. My husband has a clever tactic to silence them and keep the calls at bay... he simply tells them that the person they’re trying to reach has passed on! It's rather effective, I must say!

I recently participated in a household survey where they inquired about my age. When I mentioned I was over 80 (which I certainly am not), the chap on the other end dismissed me as 'too ancient'. Turns out that little fib put an end to the pesky follow-up calls that usually plague you after these sorts of surveys!
