He tries to confuse you by asking to check the event log on your PC, which just shows normal Windows events. Then he tells you to visit a web address that looks like it’s from Sky but it’s not. Many have found it suspicious and believe it’s a scam rather than genuine tech support.

some bloke claimed he was from sky and said there was an issue with my router. he told me to have a look at the event log on my computer, but that's just standard windows stuff showing up there. then he got me to enter a different website address which seemed like sky’s support but it wasn’t the real sky help desk at all. quite dodgy if you ask me.
