asserting to represent Sky Broadband

Received a call purporting to be from Vodafone, asserting that I was eligible for an upgrade. The thing is, I actually made an upgrade just three weeks prior at one of their shops. If it were a legitimate call, they surely would have already been aware of that detail.

I chose not to pick up as the number was unfamiliar to me, and a quick search on Google didn’t reveal any company tied to it, which is often the case. They didn’t bother leaving a voicemail, so it likely wasn’t anything crucial or legitimate. I’ve noticed that scam calls frequently disguise themselves with local numbers, in this instance, Newport. I’d wager it’s a scam.

I received a dubious call purporting to be from Vodafone based in Newport. Seems like a scam to me!

Received a call supposedly from Vodafone, but it came from a Newport number. They mentioned my name and claimed my phone contract is nearing its end, yet they were unable to specify when exactly. Quite suspicious, to say the least!

This number keeps ringing me, but they hang up shortly after 5 to 10 seconds. My hunch is that it’s some sort of nuisance call about PPI or possibly claims related to car accidents.

It seems that Vodafone might be the culprit in Newport, but I find that rather hard to swallow!

I've been receiving calls from this number on a daily basis. Initially, I was uncertain about its authenticity because I reside in Newport, but it turns out to be just another PPI scam. Best not to pick up!

I'm wondering if anyone might have insight into this caller's identity?
