I recently received a dubious phone call from someone purporting to be from Virgin. The woman, who had a distinctly Indian accent and worked from what sounded like a professional call centre, went on about some so-called dubious activity linked to my account from unfamiliar IP addresses. She insisted it was tied to illicit actions and that I must enable her to safeguard my firewalls and other particulars.
Almost instantly, I sensed something was off - I’ve come across such scams before. So, I informed her that I would be reaching out to Virgin directly to clarify this matter.
How can I be sure it was a scam, you ask? Well, for starters, I don't even have an account with Virgin! Furthermore, the number she called from didn’t show up in any searches and is definitely not affiliated with Virgin. Be vigilant, everyone!!
