I got a call from some suspicious 0118 number and I just ignored it. Then, a few minutes later, my answerphone picked up this weird busy call centre noise but no actual message was left. After reading here, it seems like an Amazon scam. No one else even has my landline, I’m ex-directory, and the only calls I ever get are these annoying scam ones. Proper dodgy.

Got a call supposedly from Amazon, but the number looked like it was from abroad, not the UK. They claimed I’d just bought something for some amount, but it's all rubbish. Most people these days can spot a scam when they see one.
