I saw a missed call from this number on 22/04/2026 but there was no voicemail. I found the number by dialling 1471. Strange thing is, I was at home when the call came through but I didn’t hear the phone ring at all.

I looked up 1471 because I thought a family member might've tried to ring me when I wasn’t home. According to reports, this number called me at exactly 5.01pm. But I was actually inside at that time, right next to the phone, and it never rang once. When I phoned it back, I got a message saying the number was temporarily out of service. It’s made me quite uneasy, I’m starting to worry someone might be messing about with my number.

Check the next two comments below this post for simple steps to put an end to these scams. If all the thousands of people in the UK who get these scam calls and messages daily took those few actions, the police and government would have to take serious measures to crack down on them. Don’t rely on someone else to do it. It only takes a little time. I’ve got the 'action fraud' website bookmarked and even contacted my MP - got quite a noteworthy reply! But it’s pointless if it’s just me doing it.

I tried calling them loads of times but got the same message every time. Clearly a scam call, so watch out. Essex area.

Got a call on my landline about 9.30 this morning while I was outside gardening so didn’t hear it ring. They didn’t leave a message on my answerphone. I never return calls without checking the number on sites like this first. The first part of the number looked like it was from relatives in Bucks, who live far away and are quite elderly, so I was a bit worried it might be my nieces calling from hospital nearby. I received a call inconveniently early this morning, which prompted me to attempt calling back using my mobile. Regrettably, this proved to be a significant error on my part.
