I received a rather overzealous call, attempting to sell me a cheaper insurance policy for my washing machine. The caller was quite relentless, so I decided to block the number.

Had a very similar thing happen with an Asian bloke who somehow knew my name. He kept going on about me supposedly paying insurance for my washing machine. I told him that wasn't true at all. He kept insisting, saying, “Are you certain, madam?” I told him I was 100% sure since my washer's brand new. Then he just hung up on me, no warning or anything. Proper rude behaviour.

Like others have mentioned, this call was obviously a scam pretending to be about a washing machine warranty. The people on the line sounded Indian or Asian, so I really doubt the number was actually based in the UK. Total rubbish!

Got a call from a lady offering a cheaper washing machine breakdown cover but she didn't ask anything about the make or age of my machine. When I asked for the company name, she said it was Home Warranties Co. I mentioned I wanted to look them up to see how it compared to my current plan, and then she just hung up on me.
