I got a call from some bloke saying he's an energy advisor for my neighbourhood. Honestly, cold calls like that are always dodgy. Don’t let them into your home or agree to any quotes they offer on the spot. It’s better to reach out directly to your local council if you want genuine advice or to see if there’s any help with insulation grants. I always make sure to block their number straight away and report them to the proper people. Stay safe out there!

Got a call from someone claiming to be a local energy consultant, keen to tell me that my current setup is rubbish and offers a free check. If you’re not aware, it’s a pre-recorded voice that expects you to respond with certain options, but it doesn’t really pause long enough for you to say much. I fed it some nonsense info - Name: Sherlock Holmes, Address: 221B Baker Street, Property: Mansion, Bedrooms: 50. They said someone would ring back to arrange the inspection - fat chance I’ll be waiting for that one! Cheers to the joker behind it all!

Definitely not some spammy number, this one is a proper, classic SCAM, no doubt about it. If you scroll down a bit, there’s a few comments - about seven or so - that go into detail on how to complain to the police about these dodgy calls trying to fleece us.
