Got a call from a number I don’t recognise, and the person asked if I was who they thought I was, using my first name. They said I supposedly asked them to call, but I never said that. I always tell them I won’t confirm my identity unless they give me theirs, which this one didn’t - just a first name. Sounds like it was some kind of call centre.

They rang me but just ended the call straight away. Seems like it was one of those automatic checks to confirm if your number is active, just so they can flood you with annoying spam calls later on!
