Received a call from someone purporting to be from a life insurance firm, asking for personal information. There was a noticeable pause before they spoke once I picked up, and they had my name readily available. Quite concerning!

Indeed, I got a call from this number around 4:45 today, but I let it ring out. After some quick Googling, I’ve stumbled upon this site and I’m now sharing my experience. I certainly won’t be picking up if they try again!

I've recently signed up for the TPS for mobiles, which helps curb those pesky marketing calls completely free of charge. It's known as the Telephone Preference Service, and I'm really hoping this information assists others in avoiding scam calls. Just a tip: if you receive a call 28 days after you've registered, you can lodge a complaint.

Received a couple of calls today from a number hailing from Macclesfield. I chose not to pick up either one after doing a quick check on this website, and I've now gone ahead and blocked the number altogether.

Not particularly impressed.

I received a call from someone claiming to represent O2, offering a rather enticing 50% discount on a phone contract. However, when they requested my address and banking information, I felt it was a bit too dodgy for my liking. I decided to politely decline and ended the conversation. Best to be cautious, I reckon!

Picked up the call, but there was no one on the other end before they disconnected.

Seems like O2 is at it again, attempting to impersonate a Scouser for reasons unknown. How curious!

Received a call claiming to be from the "promotional team" at O2. My phone flagged it as spam when I looked it up on Google. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Today, I received a rather dubious text from this number claiming to be from O2, stating that my bill was overdue. It even had a cheeky link urging me to "verify my identity and settle my account." I can say with certainty that this is a scam; there's absolutely no connection between this number and O2. Beware!

They keep ringing me five times every day!

However, as I've never held an account with O2 and am on the Telephone Preference Service register, I'm inclined to think it’s a scam. Interestingly, I had a similar call not long ago from a different number, almost exactly the same script. Quite suspicious, to say the least!
