The Unite union actually provides PPI help to their members. If you ring them up, you can request that your phone number is taken off their list. To be honest, they’re quite decent about it. They also give members other perks like free legal advice or help with will writing, so it’s not junk calls - just the union promoting extra support.

PPI calls. I just left the phone on the kitchen counter and got on with slicing my onions while they babbled away. They ended the call after about 1 minute 25 seconds. If you want to stop these annoying calls, you should sign up with the Telephone Preference Service. It’s free and companies aren’t allowed to cold call you once you’re on it.

Im with Unite the Union (PPI) branch. Best thing is to get in touch with your local union office and tell them to stop sharing your number with affiliates. Also, you should block this number straight away.

I've gotten probably like 50 calls from loads of different numbers from this company. I never pick up and if you ring back, it's always some message about solar panel funding and that they'll get back to you. I've blocked loads of these numbers but they keep popping up. Even spoke to my phone provider to try and stop them but they said they can't do anything and suggested I just change my number. Not very helpful at all!

Got a call from someone claiming to be a P.P.I. investigator, saying there’s a special deal just for Unite members. Apparently, they do a search that takes about a month, and then you can claim straight from your bank without paying anything. Or, if you prefer, they’ll handle it for you but take 25% of whatever you get back. No win, no fee they say. Not sure what to make of it yet!

Got a call about an offer from Unite Union. I didn’t pick up, but it didn’t feel like one of those spam calls, since usually the union lets you say no if you want. Could be something to do with the Scottish Labour leadership election, who knows.

Got a call from a ppi firm saying they were sent by unite the union, but they said ‘you are or might have been’ a member. Sounds like they dont have current details, so feels like a scam to me. They also said it wasnt a sales call cause they werent selling anything, which sounds pretty dodgy. Really difficult to get rid of them when you say youre not interested.
