I received a call from someone claiming to be Michael from BT Openreach. When I accused him of being a scammer, he got quite irate and even threatened to cut off our internet!

Allegedly from a call centre in India, this one tried to pass itself off as BY Internet! Quite dubious, if you ask me!

Received calls from this number both yesterday and today. They claimed I was owed a refund of £159 for some supposed excess payment on kitchen gadgets. Strangely, they couldn't specify which appliances they were referring to. It's clearly a scam, as the moment I hinted at my suspicions, they cut the line abruptly. I've since blocked the number without a second thought!

I picked up the phone, but after a brief pause of silence, they just cut off the call.

A call came through purporting to be from Virgin Media's tech support team. They siphoned off £400 from my wife's account using a dodgy app on her phone. The chap identified himself as Alex Williams, claiming to be a manager, though his accent was distinctly Indian. My wife, whose grasp of English isn't the best, couldn’t pick up on it, but the moment I got home from work and overheard her conversation, I sensed something was off. As soon as I engaged with him, it was crystal clear this was a scam. We need to track this bloke down, strip him of what he's stolen, and see him behind bars where he belongs.

Their explanation felt fishy, and when I pushed back, they became quite combative. The moment I mentioned my background in IT and Telecoms, they just cut the line! Quite the shifty encounter, if you ask me!
