I saw a missed call from this number and rang it back to find out who was trying to get hold of me. The 01625 code is for Macclesfield in Cheshire. It turns out the call came from HMP Styal, the prison there. I’m not sure who was calling or the purpose, and the front desk couldn’t tell me who had made the call, but said it was probably one of their employees. Seems like it might just have been a mix-up or wrong number this time.

They rang me about 4 times, but all i got was this weird beep noise that just kept going, louder each time. Even when i let it roll onto my answer machine, it was the same annoying sound.
