9 yearsOn Thursday, 5th October 2017 at precisely 2:54 PM, my dental practice received a rather peculiar call from the number 01625 545 820, hailing from Macclesfield. The caller introduced herself as Jaki, claiming to represent Dental Protection, an insurance firm for dentists. She alleged that my registration had been terminated due to a failure to make payments. Curious, I looked into the Caller ID and discovered it matched the number in question. On Friday at around half past five, I rang back twice, but both attempts were met with a voicemail. Following this, I tried again on Monday, 9th October at 9:01 and 9:02 AM, and once again, it went straight to the answering machine. I decided to reach out to the main office of my insurance provider for clarification. To my surprise, they confirmed that they had no connection to that telephone number and had not initiated any such call. I tried again on Tuesday, 10th October at 11:35 and 11:57 AM, leaving messages both times, yet, curiously, I have yet to receive a single response. Given the odd nature of the conversation and the subsequent silence, I’ve grown increasingly suspicious.
