Got a call from 01625 041220, a woman claiming she was with some 'solutions' company, but she didn’t really explain what. She told me she'd heard I’d been in a car crash that wasn’t my fault, which is completely untrue. Feels like one of those dodgy scams. Not sure how she got hold of my phone number. She had a nice English accent and was polite, and the number showed up as Macclesfield, but I’m certain it was a scam.

Obviously a scam, but what really creeped me out was how they had my personal info, plus details about the other person and the exact date of the crash. I didn’t hang about - just ended the call and blocked the number straight away!

Just to be clear, these people have absolutely no connection to any kind of accident or claim. They’re basically professional scammers who use all sorts of made-up stories to gain your trust. Their goal is to get you to hand over a little money on the phone, but really they’re after your card details and those three numbers on the back for fraud.

Heads up! About a year back, a similar scam tried to target me, although the number was different. Today, the same call came through, claiming it was about an accident I supposedly had. It started with an automated voice, then got passed onto a man with an Indian accent, who started chatting about how I could claim thousands in compensation. Luckily, I remembered straight away and ended the call. Definitely dodgy scammers!

Got a call from some automated system using the name #### from a #### company, claiming I’d been in an accident. Then they hooked me up with this guy who had a thick Indian accent, and honestly, the way he was going on about how thousands of pounds could be mine from a previous accident was just ridiculous. Of course, they wanted me to pay a small fee right then and there to kick off the process - total scam.

So, I've had this accident and ever since, I've been getting calls from all sorts of different numbers. Today, I finally told the caller to quit ringing me, and then they shouted, 'aaahhhh stop being so bothered' before slamming down. Proper annoying!

Got a call from someone saying they were from the insurance company dealing with the traffic accident I had a few weeks back. Apparently, the other driver had made a claim against me for some small damages, so I might actually be entitled to some payout too. They said they’d been given my info and wanted to clear everything up quickly.

I run a legit business called ASK Associates, an education consultancy, so I really get how frustrating it is to be constantly hassled by these lot. I often end up dealing with TPS complaints because of them. Not only that, but they also pretend to be recruitment agents and keep posting ads on Reed for “trainee recruitment consultants,” which means I get calls all day from jobseekers helmed by them. If you spot a proper website for ASK Associates, that’s my company. If there isn't one, you’re probably dealing with the fakes!

Most of the time there's just silence at the other end, but today the guy actually spoke and said it was about a car crash I allegedly had last June. I told him he had the wrong person as I’ve never been in any accident like that. Asked him to stop calling as it’s getting a bit much and feels like harrassment now. He just kept going on, so I hung up and have blocked the number since.
