Got a call from a local number, but the woman on the line said she was calling from Virgin Media. She claimed our internet had been compromised and asked how many gadgets we had hooked up to the wifi. The very fact she called from a local number made me suspicious straight away. She then wanted me to open Google so she could send a link for me to click. I told her I’d cut the call and contact Virgin Media personally, after which she just hung up. I then reported the incident to both Virgin Media and Action Fraud.
