4 yearsSomeone rang me claiming to be Peter, with a proper English accent, saying he was a manager at Santander’s fraud team. He said they spotted a dodgy charge on Airbnb and mentioned that a request had been made to change my online banking login details. When I denied making any changes, he explained they’d be sending me replacement account numbers and a new sort code to protect me in case my details had been hacked. The bloke actually knew my full name plus the last three digits on my bank card, which made it sound legit.
