Got a call saying there was an attempt to take £600 from my MasterCard and to press 1 if I wanted to stop it, but when I tried, the line just went dead.

Just got a robo call from this number claiming £600 had been withdrawn from a credit card overseas. They didn’t mention any card details or whose card it was. Sounds like another dodgy scam to me!
