someone called saying my laptop or computer had an issue they could sort out right there on the phone. when i asked them to post me the info, they just hung up on me.

I got a call from someone claiming they’d taken £299 from my account for my Windows 10 PC. I kept asking which bank it was from, a few times actually. Then they tried to get me to sit at my computer so they could supposedly return the money. I made it very clear I wasn’t going anywhere near my computer. I asked who they were working for and told them I reckoned it was a scam. When I asked for the bank name one more time, they just hung up on me.

I keep trying to block it, but somehow it still manages to leave a voicemail, which I don't quite understand. The automated voice sounds just like the messages from my doctor's automated system, which is a bit worrying for anyone waiting to hear back from the surgery. I was expecting results from my blood test and x-ray, and it almost caught me out first time. I did try calling back, but luckily BT's reply was that I'd either dialled a wrong number or calls to that number aren’t being connected. So, I figured out it wasn’t actually my doctor’s surgery after all.

I was a bit slow picking up so the call ended up going to my answerphone. When I played it back, all there was was just a single tone. Now I've added that number to my nuisance calls blacklist.

I’ve never gotten a call from this number before, so I don’t bother picking up. It left a message saying something about pressing 1 to cancel or speak to someone, but nope, not interested. Just leave me alone, honestly.
