No worries, it’s just the DWP folks. If you don’t fancy ringing them or keep getting cut off, just hang on for the letter and then you can respond when it arrives.

Received a text warning me my benefits might be at risk if I don't call back that number. Rang it loads of times, probably more than 50, but all I got was ringing for like 4 minutes before the call just ended. Not sure what’s going on with it.

I received a text informing me that a letter was supposedly sent my way, but I've yet to see it! I've attempted to give them a ring, but either it goes straight to an unavailable message or just keeps ringing with no answer. Very frustrating!

I kept ringing that number a few times. Most of the time it was just a busy tone, but once or twice it actually rang before I got a message saying "not available".

I attempted to make a call, but the line was either busy or went straight to the answering service. I dug up an old email address and sent a message to the Postmaster General, only to be met with a response saying that the domain isn't valid. Quite frustrating, really!

Received a message that claimed to be from the DWP, yet when I tried to ring them, it was a complete dead end - no response whatsoever. Could this be some sort of con?

A week ago, i got a text from this number and ive been trying to call back but everytime it either rings and then goes to engaged or just keeps ringing before cutting off with a message saying ‘this person cant take your calls’. Anyone know if this is legit? Im also trying to reach another dwp number to check things out.

Today I received a message from this number and attempted to call back, but the line was blocked. The automated message said I ought to give them a ring, as they've sent me a letter regarding something that could potentially affect my benefits. Quite concerning!

This number genuinely belongs to the DWP, so let’s not jump to conclusions and get overly anxious. They’re simply looking for an explanation if you've missed an appointment.

The number seems to ring but then abruptly disconnects, and occasionally, I get that engaged tone as well. It's quite puzzling!

I didn’t receive a phone call, but I got a message stating I need to call them today or there might be issues with my benefits. The odd thing is, I just visited the jobcentre earlier today and they didn’t mention anything to me then. Such a strange situation!

I got a letter saying that my payments are set to be halted, and they suggested I ring this number. However, every time I try, it just rings endlessly before disconnecting. It’s quite frustrating! How on earth are we meant to resolve this situation if the contact number is not right?

Just a quick update - I've successfully managed to connect with the DWP and discovered something rather surprising: it turns out that the number everyone has been trying to call is, in fact, their fax line! However, I've managed to obtain a different number that will actually put you in touch with the relevant folks on the other end: It’s 0800 028 3037. This new number will get you straight through to Maximus/Renaisi.

I recently received a correspondence from the DWP concerning the work programme, indicating that I've allegedly missed an appointment and must ring this number to furnish a valid excuse, or my benefits may face suspension. For the past three days, I've been trying to get in touch. The phone rings several times before abruptly cutting off. There’s no identification on the call either. However, my letter claims it’s from the "Annesley LMDM Sector Office - Hucknall - NG15 0DZ." When I looked into this, I discovered it’s a specific team of decision-makers responsible for imposing sanctions related to the work programme, established back in 2013. Interestingly, the letter informs me I missed an appointment on 17th May, yet it bears a date of 25th May. Today is 31st May, and their letter states, "we were notified on 6th June 2016." It seems rather odd, as all this is apparently still pending and they claim they haven’t received notification yet! Furthermore, there’s no clarification in the letter regarding which appointment I supposedly missed. I've been diligent about attending my JSA appointments since I started claiming in 2013; there’s no history of me skipping one. If you find yourself needing to contact them via phone, best of luck!

Got an sms from 323 689292 saying they needed to discuss my benefit claim and that they couldnt get hold of me before. It asked me to ring 01623 689292. I’ve never heard from them till today, so it smells fishy to me. Probably some sort of scam. Watch out!

Greetings from Hereford once more! I've just had another phone call, this time from 08000232635, claiming to be from Universal Credit. It's worth noting that this number seems to be linked to the DWP, and it gives off a pretty dodgy vibe.

Back again from Hereford: I decided to reach out to the National Debt Line for some advice. They recommended that I send a letter to my MP, which I’ve gone ahead and done. On top of that, the local Housing Benefit office has turned down my request for rent assistance. To make matters worse, I've now got a repossession order from the Housing Association. It all feels rather eerie, doesn’t it?

Just to follow up on my previous note about the situation I'm facing, I received a response from Universal Credit, but honestly, it was rather baffling. My claim for Universal Credit got rejected by the jobcentre due to a sanction, just like I mentioned. Thankfully, I’ve been managing to get by with some assistance from the lovely women at the local food bank. It appears that they’re not tied to any political agenda, which is quite refreshing in these challenging times.

Today, I've received a letter regarding my benefit application. If you could please give us a ring at 01623689292, we can clarify things. Alternatively, you can respond in writing, but it must be received by 6th January 2016. The details we require could have an impact on your benefit entitlement.

This message came through as a text earlier today, the 22nd of December, 2015.

I received a message indicating that the DWP has some details that could impact my benefits. When I rang the number provided, I found myself on hold for more than two hours. I then tried reaching out to the job centre and they seemed utterly baffled. Quite perplexing, to say the least!

Earlier today, I got a rather dubious text stating, "We need to discuss your benefits claim. Please call us at 01623689292 as the information required might impact your benefits." Naturally, I felt a bit sceptical about it, so I waltzed down to the Jobcentre Plus. They attempted to give the number a ring, but every time they did, the line was perpetually busy. They had a go at searching for the number online as well, but came up empty-handed. In the end, they suggested I reach out to the helpline for my current benefits. So, I did just that, and to my relief, they confirmed that there wasn’t anything they needed from me. Quite the palaver, really!
