This bloke called James Taylor, but honestly he sounded more like a Sunil Patel. He claimed to have worked for the Ministry of Justice, then for some lawyers connected to them. Weirdly, he had our old address from four years ago, which is a dead giveaway of a scam. He also reckoned I had my partner’s surname, which I’ve never used - another big red flag. I wouldn't give him my birthday either. Pretty odd scam, really - maybe I should’ve just made up a fake date to keep it going?

Got a call around midday from someone saying they were with the Ministry of Justice, telling me I was due a cheque because of a refund from a bank for fees I wasn’t supposed to pay. Asked me for my date of birth and which bank account I’d be using for the cheque. He had a really thick accent, maybe Indian, and said his name was Alex Martin! I ended the call after about five minutes. He rang again straight away but I didn’t answer. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Today, my elderly folks got three calls from this number, with a bloke who said his name was Sam Fox and spoke with an Indian accent. He told them their bank owed them some money, but thankfully, they didn’t fall for it.

they called me yesterday and again today. I’ve got caller display and an answer machine, so they can keep ringing but there’s no way I’m picking up. I figure if it’s really important they’ll leave a message. It’s a landline too, so why can’t the authorities just put a stop to these calls? On the 27th of January 2016 at about 11.29 in the morning, I got a call from a woman with an eastern accent. She claimed she was from the Dept of Justice and said I was entitled to a refund because of bank overcharges, offering to send me a cheque. She asked for my date of birth, but when I questioned why she needed it, she pressed me again for the info. Not convinced she was genuine, I declined to share my DOB. She then said goodbye and ended the call straight away.

This number's called me 5 times over the past week or so. They kept saying something about a claim for Miss Squire, but the voice had a strong Indian or maybe Eastern European accent that was hard to catch. They mentioned delivering stuff to my flat, but it’s not even my place so I just kept quiet. When I tried asking them what it was really about and to explain more, they just hung up on me. Definitely some sort of claim scam, I reckon.

Got a call from an Asian man claiming to be from the "Dept of Justice" - which obviously doesn’t exist - saying I was getting a cheque in the post from the bank because they owed me money. When I asked him which bank and didn’t want to give my address, he just cut me off right away. Sounds like a total scam to me. Today (20 Jan 2016), I received a call from a lady with an Asian accent claiming to be from some claims advisory group, saying she was working on behalf of the department of justice. I doubt any bank owes me cash, and if they did, they'd just send it straight to me. I humoured her for a bit and told her the person she wanted no longer lived here. She was really stubborn and even asked if I was the son of the person she was looking for. Eventually, she gave up and ended the call.

Total sham... me and Sam had just got comfy on the couch, having a bit of a dance, when the phone went off. Some bloke said he was Jeremy Corbyn wanting me to back Labour. Could tell straight away it was dodgy since who even votes Labour these days? Thought about ringing the cops but then remembered how I'd gutted their numbers, so no chance they'd pick up. At 10:40 on the 8th of January 2016, I got a call with someone asking, "Is this Mr ***?" I replied, "Who’s this?" but they kept asking if I was Mr *** again. When I asked them who they were, they claimed to be from some government advisory group. I didn’t buy it and just hung up straight away. Never give these cold callers any real info - always keep asking who they are or just cut them off. I looked up the number afterwards and it wasn’t what they said. Sometimes with sales calls, I just say, “Thanks, I’m hanging up now,” and once I heard the caller quietly say, “Why?! Why? Why?” as I put the phone down. Hilarious!

This number rings me quite a bit but i always ignore it. Funny thing is, on my phone it shows up as "International" which is a bit odd.

Got a call from an Asian bloke who didn’t speak English very well. He said he was ringing from some Government Department of Justice and that I was owed about £3000 back in bank charges. He did know my name and address and said he was just checking my details because he was gonna post me a cheque for the refund. When he asked for my date of birth, I asked why he needed that if he was just sending a cheque by post. His excuse was weak and he said if I didn’t give it, the “cheque” would be cancelled. I told him I thought it was a dodgy call and then he just hung up. Proper scam.

Someone claiming to be from the ministry of justice called about a refund for overpaid bank fees, supposed to go back into my account!! When I asked for their work address, they just hung up on me.

I just had a ring from a bloke who sounded Asian, said his name was Mike Taylor. When I asked him to say his name again to be sure, he just dropped the call.

They called me like 7 times today, but whenever I answer, no one is there. The line is still open though, so I’m just ignoring it and won’t call back.

Got a call from this number earlier today, which seemed strange since it’s New Year’s Day and only my mates and family usually ring me on my mobile. I didn’t pick up and there was no voicemail left either!

Got a call today 15/12/21 from a bloke claiming he was with the department of justice. When I asked where he was calling from, he said London, but the number showed up with a Mansfield area code. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from this number just before lunchtime today, but as soon as I picked up, they dropped the call. Feels a bit dodgy to me.

They asked for my husband, so I asked who was speaking. Then they tried to get me to confirm my name. I insisted on getting his name instead and they said something about Advisory Power service or similar. The person had an Indian accent and was a bit hard to follow. I told them they shouldn't be calling as we're on the no-call list, but they just laughed it off. I told them to remove us from their list and not to contact us again. They kept rambling as I ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying "MIKE" in a strong Asian accent. It was like that one back on 17/12/15, talking about money from the Department of Justice from a bank refund or something. He had my address right but the postcode was way off, so I just ended the call. Then he rang me straight back askin’ why I’d hung up. Told him his info was wrong so I wasn’t gonna chat and ended it again. I’m pretty sure I don’t have any bank money owed to me for PPI or anythin like that anyway!

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent from this number, but her speech was really unclear. She was rambling about some old bank fees I supposedly paid too much on over the last two decades. When I stopped following her script, she just said I didn’t get what she was saying (well, duh). Messing around with these scammers can be amusing at first, especially since they’re footing the bill, but it quickly gets boring. So in the end, I told her we’re both wasting our time and she should find someone else to try her tricks on. These scam calls are such a nuisance.

Got a call around 4:45 pm today from a number that seemed like a proper UK one. The person on the other end spoke really slowly and wasn’t clear at all - felt like some cold caller. I hung up pretty quickly after realising it was a spam call. Wouldn’t have picked up elsewise.
