Blimey, it was a right peculiar moment when I answered the call from this chap. I reckon he must have been getting a bit too comfortable with his mum, as he couldn't muster a word once I picked up. Quite the awkward situation, to say the least!

I’ve no idea how they got hold of my name! I’m on the TPS and my number isn’t even listed anywhere. They keep ringing from loads of different numbers, mostly from somewhere in India. It’s really getting on my nerves.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Benefits UK. Since the DWP is ages behind - like 3 months - it's easy to believe if you're waiting on your claim. Seems dodgy to me, so I’m reporting it to Ofcom.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be from UK benefits about 10 mins back. When I told him to stop calling, he kept pushing. Lucky they're not close by, or there might've been some words!

I’ve had it with all these annoying calls so I went and got a BT call blocker phone. You just put in your mates and family numbers and then you don’t have to stress about random calls anymore. If it’s something important, the caller has to tell you who they are before it lets them through. Most of the time when it’s just some scammer or spammer they give up and hang up. Finally, some peace and quiet!

A few months now there’s been this person ringing nonstop, sounds like they’re either an Asian guy or sometimes a woman, claiming they’re from UK Benefits or something. I must’ve had at least 50 to 80 calls from them. Every time I told them I wasn’t interested or that I was busy, or waiting for something important, sometimes they get pretty rude. I’ve asked them over and over to stop calling but they keep going.

For the past couple of years, I get calls every single day from these fraudsters. Sometimes they pretend they’re from Benefits UK, other times they say they’re with Hotpoint, and now it’s Nationwide. I always tell them I’ve reported them to Action Fraud and they quickly hang up. I have actually reached out to Action Fraud myself, but it feels like they can’t be bothered to help - all they told me was to just change my phone number. Why should I have to do that? I’m sure if one of their own was getting these calls, it’d be dealt with quickly.

Over the past three days, I got four calls. Yesterday, I told them I wasn't interested and ended the call. Today, they rang again and it was an Asian gentleman mentioning UK benefits. I told him to not ring me anymore and then just hung up.

Got a call from some bloke saying he’s from “benefits uk” - obviously a dodgy outfit trying to con people. It’s so irritating, when will they finally sort this out? They rang first thing at 9 in the morning, then rang again a couple of hours later. Honestly, I’m done being polite with these scammers, my patience has run out completely. Just got a call from this number about 5 minutes ago, think it’s the sixth time this week they’ve bothered me. The bloke on the phone had a thick foreign accent and said his name was Nicholas - sounded totally fake to me. Got fed up and told him to stop calling or I’d report it to Ofcom. I keep getting similar calls from 01132 451808 and 01132 455236, all doing the same nonsense.

Got a call around 2.55pm from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to ask me a few lifestyle questions. I declined politely, and he suddenly started calling me a stupid idiot c### before just hanging up on me. The bloke on the phone said his name was Raymond, but from the way he spoke, I reckon it was more like Rehman. He claimed he was ringing from Medicines UK and said he had some info that definitely shouldn't be public. I told him I wouldn't confirm or deny anything, and then he just hung up.

I got a call the other day from a bloke speaking with an Eastern European accent, asking if I was Mrs (my surname). I asked him who he was and what he wanted, and he just said, "Who are you? You just called me." I ended the call there. This keeps happening a few times a week now. I tried checking the number with 1471 but it comes up as unreachable. Why aren’t these calls blocked yet?

This number rang my mum earlier and the person on the line asked if she was Mrs X. She ended the call as soon as she saw the number looked a lot like another odd call she got before, both starting with 016. When she looked it up, she saw loads of warnings saying it was linked to scams, according to other people on here.
