I got a text about lung checks and thought it was from the NHS, but when I phoned my doctor, they wouldn’t say if it was real or not. Seems daft for the NHS to send health check invites like that. You never know where you’re really calling and it might cost a fortune! Also, the message had a link to the BBC - what would Watchdog say about that? I’m just going to block it to be safe. If there’s any health screening stuff, it should come directly from your GP, not some random text out of the blue.

Totally sounds like a robo call, my call blocker showed it as a missed call but my phone never actually buzzed.

This caller claimed to be from the NHS lung check programme but got quite dodgy when I wouldn’t share my details. They asked if I wanted to opt out, but then said I needed to hand over info just for that, so naturally I said no. After that, they insisted I had to give them my info or they’d keep ringing me non-stop! The NHS really ought to know they’re using these pushy tactics to try and get personal data.

I got a call from the NHS Lung Screening team, but they always send a letter first with the date and time for your appointment, then follow up with a text before ringing you. So it's legit and pretty organised.

A couple of days back, I got a text from the NHS saying they’d be phoning me soon for a lung check. They also sent me a letter in the post about it.

I recently received a call from what appeared to be the NHS regarding a lung cancer screening. Before they rang me, I actually got a text a few days prior checking if I was free to chat. I decided to Google the number, and to my surprise, it was indeed linked to the NHS. During the conversation, they asked me some relevant questions and seemed well-informed about my earlier responses. The woman I spoke with was very pleasant and helpful.

Got a call from this number, and they were saying it was about my husband needing some medical info. I was really upset and told them he’s passed away. The woman didn’t even apologise, which made me think it might be one of those scam calls. Usually, you're told why they’re calling before they say anything serious. It showed up as a local number but hospital calls usually don’t come like that.

Just a heads up, this is the NHS lung screening survey number. Folks usually know ahead when they’ll ring, and have got a rough idea of when to expect the call. So, it’s not a random number popping up outta nowhere.

Just got a call from this number and it’s definitely the NHS lung screening. They sent out letters beforehand letting people know when to expect the call. So if you got one too, it’s legit.

got a call from mansfield today but didnt pick up cos I figured it was some kinda spam, no reason for them to be ringin me. then they left a message about a doctors appointment, which is weird cos i dont have any appointment, let alone one over an hour away in a place I've never been. dont bother calling back or answering, they’re just tryin to get info outta you.

They called claiming to be from the NHS, but after checking with my doctor, I found out it was just a scam trying to get your personal info.
