this number just rang me and left a voicemail that seemed really threatening, saying there'd be legal trouble if i didnt return the call. quite unsettling!

I picked up and the guy straight away asked if it was me by name. I said yes and asked who he was and what he needed. He just ended the call after that, maybe I confused him a bit too much.

Shady business, to say the least! They didn’t bother leaving any message, which is a clear sign that they’re not on the up and up. A legitimate caller would certainly have taken the time to drop a note. We're signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, so this lot is clearly flouting UK regulations. They might very well be up to no good, and even if not, the whole situation screams of untrustworthiness. Best to avoid any interaction! Just end the call right away, or if you're in the mood for a bit of fun, feign interest and lead them on a wild goose chase!
