I attempted to answer, and straight away I was just told "goodbye" - and that was super quick, I might add! Then the call just cut off. I asked what was going on! So I’m saying goodbye now!!!! Just to add to my previous post - got a call on 3rd September 2014 from someone calling themselves the "Mortgage Review Centre". They had my last name, phone number, and supposedly my address too, though I never shared or confirmed it. The caller said they were "checking if my mortgage rate was right" and claimed to work with all the major banks. When I asked who my mortgage was with, they said they didn’t know because "people change every couple of years and they don’t keep records". I told them my mortgage was actually paid off 5 years earlier, but they kept pushing until I told them to stop scamming folks. They replied with "Don’t say that, it’s not nice. I get paid well for this." I looked up the Mortgage Review Centre and the few mentions online show the firm was based in Yorkshire and was "STRUCK OFF AND DISSOLVED" back in December 2012.
