Got a call from a woman claiming to be from Sky Broadband about some supposed problem with slow internet. She asked me to test my connection speed, which I did, and it came back as 59mbps. They insisted that 51mbps is the minimum, so apparently mine was too low. Then they wanted me to install some screen sharing app on my phone or laptop. When I asked how I could be sure it was really Sky, she said they had my customer ID but never actually told me what it was. I told her that wasn’t enough to convince me, and then the call just ended abruptly.

They ring up saying you’ve been refunded because of bad internet and ask you to check it. Then they try to get you to open some screen sharing program so they can see your bank details. Same scam on the Sky forum too. Absolutely dodgy, watch out for these calls!
