I got a text saying to ring 01622527142 to get my pin for the 80th D-Day anniversary from the RBLI. But seeing what folks have posted here, I’m going to leave it alone and not respond.

Could be someone pretending to be from the Royal British Legion or maybe even dodgy contractors claiming to be. Or it might just be scammers trying to trick you into handing over your personal or bank info. Whatever you do, don't share any details with cold callers. These days, scammers are so clever they can fake real phone numbers, so even if the number looks legit, the person on the other end might not be. Best thing to do is contact the Royal British Legion only through their official website or phone them directly using a number you find yourself. Stay safe!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Angel, which they claimed was linked to the Royal British Legion Industries. I asked for their email and when I didn’t give it, they just hung up on me. Tried looking up any connection between Angel and RBLI but couldn’t find anything at all. Feels like a scam to me.

I signed up for what was advertised as a free Royal British Legion badge. They mentioned they'd phone me from an 01622 number, and I made it very clear I didn’t want any calls. I’m not going to be pressured into setting up a direct debit when money’s tight. Free should just mean free, no catches!
