Got a call from someone saying they were from Nationwide. Total scam, don't trust it!

Absolutely ridiculous, these chancers are ringing up pretending to verify card information.

They don't sound remotely like legitimate bank staff; more like some dodgy blokes from South London donned in balaclavas. The moment you question them, they go into a right flap.

Don't be taken in by their nonsense. Contact your bank directly instead.

I've reported the number to the Metropolitan Police.

SCAM ALERT - they ring up and ask you to confirm a code from your bank for some payment. If you share it, they can steal your cash. Best thing to do is contact your bank right away, tell them it’s a fraud, and get them to block any pending payments.

I received a call from this number, and the chap on the other end claimed to be from my bank. He wanted me to verify my card details, which I found rather suspicious. I promptly informed him that I wouldn't engage in such a conversation, as it's completely against protocol for the bank to ring me up for that kind of information.
