Phone number ☎️ 01622370134 👆 is reported as a persistent and aggressive scam operation targeting individuals with calls falsely claiming to be from O2. Callers, often with strong South Asian accents, offer suspicious discounts (notably 40% off bills or phone upgrades) linked to COVID-19 or loyalty rewards, attempting to extract personal and account verification codes. Many recipients, including non-O2 customers, have verified these calls as fraudulent, citing poor language, refusal to provide legitimate details, and abusive behaviour when challenged. The calls frequently originate from numbers appearing local but are flagged as potential fraud. Victims are advised not to answer, ignore or block the number, avoid sharing any security codes, and report suspicious activity to official channels to protect against potential identity theft or account compromise.

I tried calling back without revealing my number, and when someone picked up, it was just a voice that sounded Asian saying 'hello'. Definitely not a legitimate business! I'm tempted to keep ringing and then hanging up just to irritate him. I reckon you lot should give it a go too!

Had a really hard time understanding the caller, sounded like an Indian accent. They kept talking about some sort of deal, maybe connected to mobile phones (O2, I think). Honestly, it was just gibberish to me.

Totally a scam. They claim to be from 02, which is the Maidstone area code, but it’s clearly some dodgy call centre from abroad, probably India or somewhere. My phone actually showed “Possible Fraud” when they rang. Bit funny if you ask me!

I recently received a rather dubious phone call from an individual with an Indian accent, who stated he was representing O2 and offering a tantalising 40% discount on my bill. As the conversation progressed, he began probing me with questions and even sent through a couple of texts. Then, rather alarmingly, he requested the last four digits of my bank card - to which I firmly declined, asserting that I wouldn’t be duped by a scam or fraudulent scheme. Despite his insistence that he was indeed a legitimate O2 representative, I suggested he send me the information via postal service before hanging up. Shortly after, a second call came in from another chap, also sporting an Indian accent, who claimed to be the manager and was after the same sensitive information. Again, I refused and reiterated my request for the details to be sent in the post. He promptly terminated the call. Just a heads up, this reeks of a scam!

Pretending to be O2. Some bloke with an accent said there was a 40% discount because of corona and told me "O2 never ask for personal info so we'll send a text to check it, then a link with a code you can use." O2 never sends codes for deals, usually they sort things over email and try to get you to sign something. Plus, O2 always uses your actual name loads and this guy didn’t even know mine.

I received a call from someone with a distinct foreign accent claiming to be from O2. I was rather pressed for time as I was heading out. He casually inquired about my well-being, and then there was something a bit off in his tone. I struggled to catch what he was saying, so I asked him to repeat himself. I could have sworn he mentioned something about being in his hotel room and asked if I wanted to "play"! Naturally, I asked him to clarify that, especially about the "play" part, and promptly ended the call. It gave me the creeps!

This bloke was really pushing some "amazing offer". I told him if it was so good, he should give me his phone number after I shared my sort code and account number. Someone rang my husband's phone pretending to be from o2. Had a thick Indian accent. They seemed to know loads about him but didn't get the answer to the security question. As soon as my husband said the answer, he got a text from o2 saying his password was updated!

They keep ringing me nonstop and refuse to remove my number no matter how many times I ask.

They tried to pass off as O2. I figured it was genuine since the area code was near mine. They rang me 5 times just today. I've blocked the number now. Proper scam this, and it’s scary how they can fool folks, especially since they seem to have loads of my info.

Got a call claiming to be from o2, saying I'd get a discount on my phone bill. Then they changed my password, which really made me doubt them, but they sounded super legit. Please don't make the same mistake I did!

Said they were from O2 but it’s clearly a con.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from O2, suggesting that I was eligible for a discount. However, they didn’t mention my name at any point and the call quality was rather poor.

Claimed to be representing O2, yet he had a distinctly Indian accent. He was going on about offering a 40% discount on my current contract. I had no interest in entertaining any more of that nonsense, so I just hung up!

I received a call from someone claiming I could nab a 40% discount by clicking a certain link, but the chap didn’t even know my name. He was clueless about my current monthly charges or the allowance I had. It’s utterly disgraceful how some individuals go about trying to swindle hardworking folks out of their money. What’s worse is the emotional toll it takes-once people discover they’ve been hoodwinked, it leaves lasting scars. Such experiences contribute to a pervasive sense of mistrust, making victims feel as if they’re living in a world rife with deceit where no one can be relied upon.

O2 said they’d reduce my bill, so I asked a quick question about when my contract ends. They said wait a sec while they check but then gave me the wrong date and started getting angry with me. I just asked why an O2 rep was shouting and then they hung up. Got like three missed calls from them just today.

I got a call from someone pretending to be O2, saying they had a great deal on a new contract and phone, pretty much what O2 were genuinely offering at the time. The guy sounded Indian and had a really strong accent, but what freaked me out was he knew stuff about my account no random person should. I rang O2 straight away to verify, and that's when I found out it was a total con.

Felt like a dodgy call. They said I’d be getting an upgrade to my mobile plan and a free handset dispatched, but claimed they didn’t require any of my bank info. They mentioned a code would be sent to me and warned not to share it with others, then just cut me off. I phoned them back a couple of times but gave it up and ended with blocking the number. The caller ID showed “O2 UK” with a space, yet my real O2 alerts come through as “O2UK” with no gap. Pretty clear someone was pretending to be O2.

Got a call from a guy with a heavy Asian accent saying he was calling from O2. He said my contract was ending soon and tried to sell me a phone deal with a handset included, but I don’t even have a phone contract with them!

I think it was one of those dodgy O2 scam calls. I let it run for a moment, but the second I asked "can I stop you there," the person on the other end hung up straight away. Felt like it could have been from outside the UK, if you ask me.

Got a call from a quick-speaking Asian guy trying to sell some dodgy phone discount deal. I ended the call straight away, but he keeps ringing back over and over, and I just don’t pick up anymore.

They said they were from O2, but it was pretty obvious it was a scam.
