This number popped up on my phone with the local area code, so I answered, but it turned out to be about some kind of ppi thing.

I almost picked up thinking it was someone local because the area code matched mine. Turns out, it was just one of those dodgy PPI scams. They're clearly getting sneaky using familiar numbers to trick you into answering. The caller ID showed ECC.
