Just did a quick online search and found a Tedalert website. I'm quite cautious due to previous experiences with identity theft. The lady was indeed quite pleasant, but I thought it best to do a bit of digging to be safe.

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM - I’ve had loads of calls telling me they’re from the council’s support service. They say I can get a free panic alarm with a GPS tracker. They ask loads of personal stuff like my age, where I live, if I’m on my own and about any health issues. It’s really fishy how they even got hold of my number. Definitely a scam, so don’t trust them!

Then, instead of just hanging up, mess around with them a bit. Seriously, record the whole thing and chuck it up on YouTube with a title like “Scamming the Scammer” plus your name. Just got a call from someone called Veronica claiming to be from a support group, chatting about panic buttons. Oddly enough, since my name's Veronica too, I got quite wary, like she was trying to buddy up or something, lol. She pressed me about where I live, asking if I was in a care home. I simply said no and didn’t give any more info. Then I told her if I ever needed help, I’d see my doctor. Isn’t it illegal to get these cold calls in the UK, especially if it’s coming from Maidstone?
