Got a call nonstop from someone saying they were with a legal firm about a car crash and that I had £2800 waiting for me. Told them I hadn’t had any accident but the bloke wouldn’t take no for an answer, insisting he just wanted to assist. Eventually, after me saying no loads of times, he just ended the call. I got a call on the 5th of January claiming to be from Talk Talk, and it sounded pretty convincing at first. Just a heads up, if you get one of these calls, best to hang up straight away and don’t look back. They tried to convince me I was getting a refund of £200 and asked for my bank details, saying an account with "Western Union" had been set up. They even asked how much money I had in my bank so they could be sure the refund would reach me. When I told them the account was just for payments and I had no money in there, they just cut me off. The next day, I tried calling the number back, and it just rings once then goes dead with some crackling noise. Everyone, please watch out for this scam, it’s 100% dodgy. I’ve already reported it to my bank, the police, Trading Standards, and Talk Talk. We’ve got to stop these crooks somehow. Oh, and the caller sounded Asian.

Got a call from an Indian call centre saying my computer's got a virus. Total scam, just a load of nonsense from some fraudsters chatting rubbish.

Got a call from 01621891198 claiming to be TalkTalk, saying there was an issue with our router and asking to access my laptop. We are with TalkTalk (though probably not staying after this), and since our number is ex-directory, makes you wonder if there’s been another leak of their customers’ details. This isn’t the first time they’ve rung, but previous calls came from a different number. Really makes you think Dido Harding’s not too worried about protecting TalkTalk customers’ info. - caller: 01621891198

Got a call from 01621891198, the person said they were from TalkTalk. I ended the call quickly before they could explain why they were ringing. Later, I told TalkTalk about it and they said it was a scam. They also mentioned that if they ever call you for real, it will show up on your account so you can check. - caller: 01621891198

Yesterday, I got a ring from 01621891198, and the person said they were from Talk Talk. They tried to tell me there was an issue with my modem. I told them there wasn’t any problem, and then they asked me to switch on my computer - which I refused. After that, I just ended the call.
