Got a call from someone called ‘Jenny’ claiming to be from Microsoft’s main office in Reading, specifically 110 Valley Park. Odd thing is, the phone number they used had a Maldon, Essex code (01621 337661), which didn’t add up at all. She told me my computer had been compromised and even gave me a bogus Microsoft Licence number! When I started probing about why I could hear loads of other voices chatting loudly in the background, all saying they were from Microsoft HQ, she just hung up on me. Proper scam if you ask me.

They claimed to be from BT’s tech support but definitely weren’t. Once I told them I’d ring BT back on their official Freephone, they just cut off. Looks like a scam trying to get money. Best steer clear of these lot.

Had a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my internet. Thing is, I don’t even have internet service with them!
