I didn’t pick up because I’d already missed a couple of calls from various unknown numbers but with the same local area code last week. Since no one I recognise ever rings me on my landline, I figured it was probably some sort of scam. Felt a bit suspicious, so just left it.

Got a recorded call claiming to be from “British Telecom,” but the voice sounded like it was straight out of America. The message said my landline service would be “cut off starting today.” Totally dodgy. I hung up before it finished and saw the caller ID show an international number. Clearly a scam trying to con people who might not be on their guard.

In just a couple of hours, I've had this number ring me 5 separate times!

I got a couple of calls from this number in less than an hour. It was some kind of robotic message pretending to be from my internet company saying my connection would be cut off in a day if I didn’t do something. I just ended the call right there!
