A chap rang up looking to chat with my missus, claiming he was inquiring about her life insurance. When he stumbled upon her name, Alleyn, he seemed unsure if it was a name for a man or a woman. I pretended to be her when I answered, but to my surprise, he said he could assist me instead. I told him straight that he was just trying to drum up some business. Honestly, I could have called him out on his dishonesty, as he must have known she has no life insurance whatsoever. It’s baffling how these sorts of people can get away with such brazen cold calling and peddling blatant fabrications!
