I've been getting calls from this number on both my mobile and my home phone pretty much non stop. Usually when I answer, there's just silence, but sometimes they ask for me by name and talk about some money I’m supposedly owed from a car crash, and weirdly they seem to know quite a bit about it. A northern sounding bloke spoke to me, using my name, and when I asked where he was calling from, he said “Legal Assist”. He then repeated my name and mentioned he was trying to get hold of me. This company keeps ringing me all the time from loads of numbers starting with 0161974. I’ve already got a lawyer since I was in an accident, so I told them to stop calling and take me off their list. Instead of listening, they just cut the call every single time. Really annoying!

At first, I thought they were legit because they already knew loads about me and the accident. They basically pressured me into exaggerating my injuries, then handed me over to a solicitor. That lot asked me the same questions again and kept pushing me to make my injury sound worse than it was. Even though it felt a bit off, I still went with it. They sent someone round with a bunch of papers for me to sign straight away. After they left, I had a proper look through the paperwork and found out I’d not been given any signed copies or receipts. Worse, hidden deep in the small print was a clause saying I could end up having to pay costs myself. Since the contract said I had 14 days to cancel, I did that by email and posted a letter too. Now, the calls from this number just keep rolling in and I’m ignoring them all.
