Just got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC, total scammer trying to pull a fast one!

Got an automated call saying it was from HMRC, threatening to arrest me for fraud if I didn’t press 1 to speak to an advisor! They must be mad - I’m a Chartered Accountant and know for sure HMRC wouldn’t ever ring people like that. Told them to shove it where the sun don’t shine!

They keep ringing from loads of different numbers, even mobile ones, like 5 or 6 times a day, really frustrating. Whenever I ask them to take my number off their list, they just hang up on me, proper rude. I'm definitely gonna report them.

Got a call from someone claiming to be 02, total scam. Had to look them up on some app and blocked them right away.

Some bloke called me, said his name was Romeo from Simply Connected, seemed alright but I figured it might be dodgy. He tried to sell me a SIM plan and I gave him my bank info anyway. Next thing I know, a SIM arrives from O2. Gotta say, bit surprised but all’s well.

So, these people rang me yesterday claiming to be from Simply Connect, saying they were working for O2 and offered me a phone contract. I gave them my bank info straight away and was promised the phones would arrive next day, which is today. A few hours later I started getting suspicious so I checked out the reviews here and honestly, I spent the whole night worried sick. This morning after my ciggie and coffee, someone knocked and there were two parcels at the door with the new phones I ordered from them.

They claimed to be O2 but don’t trust it. Next thing, my phone started downloading t####er by itself. Honestly, this app is a lifesaver. It blocks those annoying scammers as soon as they ring. Couldn’t be happier with it!

I picked up the phone and they inquired if I was Mrs (my first name). I replied in the affirmative. They then began to mumble the name of my supposed internet provider. Curious, I asked them to clarify who my provider actually was. They claimed it was O2. To this, I responded that that was incorrect. They insisted that they were indeed O2 reaching out to me. Puzzled, I questioned their purpose for calling. Just then, they abruptly disconnected the call.

Gave me a bell around 7 in the evening, inquiring whether I was interested in a new mobile. They claimed I had posted online about wanting a new device and went on to ask if I had a contract? I hung up straight away-don’t engage with social media or anything similar, so I couldn’t possibly have expressed any desire for a phone, especially since I’ve just got the latest model on contract!
