Got a call from someone claiming to be with Opus, saying my electricity contract was up for renewal and they had a better offer. When I asked for the actual rates to compare, she got quite sharp with me. She kept telling me she’d been handling my account for years and wouldn’t rip me off.
Turns out it was all rubbish - definitely not from Opus, the deal they pitched was worse than mine, and my contract isn’t even ending for another couple of years.
Complete SCAM, and these people are just plain SCAMMERS.
I really can’t stand folk who try to pull tricks like this on older people over the phone, they’re worse than petty thieves.

Over the years, I've had loads of calls from Ecosave in Manchester, claiming they're from Eon. They keep ringing up trying to drum up business. Quite annoying really.

I've had loads of calls coming from numbers almost exactly the same, claiming to be from some energy renewal firm. I never pick up, and honestly, it's probably better to just steer clear!
