I just received a call on my mobile, and they mentioned my name right off the bat. I replied with, 'Well, that hinges on who's on the other end.' Their response was, 'You’re either that individual or you’re not.' I ended up telling him to ‘get lost’ in no uncertain terms.

Absolutely infuriating! This company has the audacity to ring my private number, seeking my father, who is not just elderly, but also in poor health and doesn’t understand a word of English. When I pressed the caller for clarification regarding the nature of the call, they outright refused to give any details, insisting they could only speak to the person on their list. Honestly, as far as I'm aware, my 98-year-old father, who relies on a wheelchair, is stone deaf and completely clueless about technology, has never had any debts hanging over him!

Indeed, it seems we've got Moorcroft Debt Collection on our hands. I've heard they don't have the best reputation. If you've recently severed ties with Virgin, you might find them being a bit underhanded and sending debt collectors after you. I switched from Virgin to Sky just a week ago on the 15th, and already I've received a letter from Moorcroft along with some relentless phone calls. It hasn't even been a full week since I cancelled! Virgin hasn't provided a final bill either, and I can't even access my account to settle up. Richard Branson (ha!) certainly has some dodgy practices in play. I caught a glimpse of his business shenanigans regarding loans on the telly lately. Not the saint everyone seems to think he is, is he? Anyway, I ended up paying what they said I owed, but I wouldn't say my experience was pleasant by any stretch. If you don't actually owe them anything, do make sure to firmly tell them to clear off! Have a bit of fun with the lot - they act as if they’re some sort of bounty hunters. They do have a habit of twisting the law both in conversation and in their correspondence, so it’s wise to keep all those letters. And before you engage in a phone call, casually mention you might be recording the conversation. I'm curious to see how they respond! Cheerio!

Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd has quite the tarnished reputation, it seems. They’re infamous for posing as various firms, including Halifax, and attempting to swindle those who already have payment plans in place with their banks or credit card providers. The numbers they've been using are 0161 475 2808, 0161 475 2875, and 0161 968 7065. It's rather alarming how they operate under such dubious pretenses!

I've had the displeasure of dealing with Moorcroft Debt Recovery, and I must say, their conduct is appalling and downright discourteous.
